Tata Power Delhi Distribution stated that it has collaborated with Probus Smart Things to transform smart metering technology through the adoption of a universal Network Interface Card with Bluetooth-enabled communication.

The Universal NIC is designed for enhancing meter connectivity as well as operational efficiency and it enables reliable communication even if primary networks are not available, via multi-point star connectivity, allowing meters to relay data through neighbouring meters. Furthermore, the NIC integrates with Tata Power-DDL’s consumer mobile applications & meter reading systems, improving user experience as well as operational efficiency.

“We are excited to collaborate with Probus Smart Things to adopt this cutting-edge technology. This initiative aligns with Tata Power-DDL’s vision of providing reliable, efficient, and sustainable solutions for our consumers,” said Gajanan S. Kale, CEO, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited.

Anand Singh, Founder & CEO of Probus Smart Things, said, “This partnership highlights our commitment to innovation and delivering smart, reliable solutions for the power distribution sector. By working closely with Tata Power-DDL, we aim to set a new standard in smart metering technology.”

The initiative will initially be deployed in Tata Power-DDL’s operations, with plans to expand the technology to other utilities and regions in the future. The partnership supports digitalization in the power sector and strengthens the vision of a more connected and technologically advanced energy grid.
